I was really looking forward to trying this product after reading the reviews. Unfortunately, it didn’t work for me at all. The formula is quite thick and feels sticky upon application, leaving a terrible dry finish. It felt like I was wearing a heavy layer on my lips, which actually made them feel and look drier, resulting in a smaller appearance—quite the opposite of its plumping claims.
I typically drink plenty of water to keep my lips hydrated, but I honestly felt like City Lips drained the moisture right out of them. I used it consistently in the morning and at night for two weeks hoping for improvement, but there was none.
Additionally, I found that lipstick doesn’t apply well over this product, and it’s definitely incompatible with long-wear lipsticks like KVD. It disrupts their wear time by leaving an unwanted coating on the lips.
I’m very disappointed and have decided to return it for a refund. If you’re over 40 and seeking to maintain lip fullness, there are definitely better lip serums available than this one.
