I absolutely love the essence of snail mucin, and this combination is amazingāI’m a huge fan! I was using retinol during Holy Week and spent time at the hot springs, which resulted in some sun exposure. Even though I applied sunscreen, I noticed a sunspot on my cheek closer to my ear. Here’s my candid review of the Cosrx snail mucin & niacinamide 5% serum based on my initial experience from November 27, 2023. I had high hopes for this product due to the rave reviews I read online, but sadly, it fell short for me. My skin, which is aging and dehydrated, didnāt show any improvement, leading to my original rating of 3 stars and a lengthy, honest critique of my experience.
Fast forward to February 16, 2024. Determined to understand why this product worked wonders for others but not for me, I did some research. I discovered that niacinamide shouldnāt be used with vitamin C products, something I was unaware of as a 47-year-old woman trying to combat the signs of aging. After years of sun exposure and a quest to reverse the damage done, I decided to try the Cosrx Snail Mucin on its own, without the niacinamide. To my surprise, I absolutely love it! My skin feels hydrated, and Iām noticing improvements in texture and fine lines.
I finally understand the hype surrounding snail mucin and will continue using it. This experience has taught me the importance of researching product compatibility before trying new skincare items. Had I not looked into it after my initial disappointment, I would have missed out on the benefits I’m experiencing with just the Cosrx Snail Mucin.
Originally, I was thrilled to receive my Cosrx Snail Mucin, expecting it to be fantastic like everyone on TikTok claimed. Unfortunately, it severely dried out my already parched skin. Despite my regular heavy moisturizing routine, the Cosrx Advanced Snail Radiance only exacerbated my dryness. By the second day, I noticed some additional dryness, and the skin around my forehead and nose began to crack superficially, which became evident when applying foundation. I persevered, hoping my skin would adjust, as I was eager to love this product.
By day four, my face was flaky and peeling. Despite my desire to make it work, after two weeks of daily use, I still havenāt seen any improvement. Instead, my skin looks worse with increased dryness, the opposite of what I wanted.
I hesitate to give only 3 stars, but it wouldnāt be fair to mislead others. If you have normal or oily skin, it might work well for you like it has for many others. However, if you have dry or sensitive skin, I recommend proceeding with caution.
